Developed the Strategy for Washington State’s Learn to Return Program, aimed at supporting schools’ transition back to in-person learning after COVID closures. In partnership with the State Department of Health, and the Office of the Superintendent for Public Instruction, we conceptualized and supported a three month pilot and worked with partners to scale the program statewide.

Collaborated with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) to build a business strategy for its emerging technical assistance portfolio. This work included landscaping peer organizations, conducting internal and external stakeholder interviews, and delivering both programmatic and operational recommendations to grow a new technical unit for EGPAF.

Engaged by Partners in Health to design and implement an inclusive and ambitious vision and strategy development process, including multiple opportunities for staff feedback and input (all-staff survey, interim materials available online for open comment, facilitated discussion groups).

Developed recommendations for The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s investment strategy for Human Resources for Health (HRH) based on the current gaps and potential opportunities identified through their professional experience and knowledge, a literature review, and stakeholder interviews with donors and practitioners in the HRH field.

Served as a strategist and advisor for PRADAN—one of the oldest and largest civil society organizations in India—on institutional strengthening, organizational strategy, and the launch of new outreach initiatives outside of India (including new partnerships with Stanford and Harvard University).

Led several internal systems strengthening efforts for a global nutrition organization, including developing its first set of employee policies, creating job descriptions for all staff and terms of reference for Board members, identifying skill gaps and supporting the recruitment of two new Leadership Team members, co-designing a new budget template designed to inform short- and medium-term financial and programmatic decisions, and developing a resource mobilization strategy and tools to support the Leadership Team’s fundraising efforts.

Served as technical advisors for the Washington State Department of Health’s COVID response, supporting strategy, operations, and partnerships of the Statewide Testing Division.

Served as a technical advisor to Jhpiego and the Myanmar Ministry of Health to design forecast models for national health workforce requirements, strengthen data quality assurance processes, and promote evidence-informed health workforce planning and policy.

Engaged by the Heidelberg Global Institute of Health to create technical materials (i.e., scientific manuscripts, technical proposals for research project grants) on health systems strengthening interventions. This includes liaising with senior research experts to identify evidence gaps and refine study designs and objectives and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams for project design and development.

Supported WWF with synthesizing two years of original peer-reviewed research, desk research, and regional case studies on the future of protein systems and the implications for health, economic development, and the environment. The final report synthesized hundreds of pages of research inputs and articulated clear recommendations and next steps to a broad community of scientists, policymakers, funders, and civil society organizations.

Seconded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a research and development attaché to the WHO during the 2014-2015 West Africa Ebola epidemic, based in Monrovia. Collaborated with the WHO and national government partners in West Africa to develop post-Ebola reconstruction plans, including detailed strategic plans and budgets for infrastructure and targeted long-term capacity-building initiatives.
